Visit the famous Murdeshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and the towering Rajgopura. The intricate carvings on the temple walls and the entrance of the Rajgopura are a feast for the eyes. Take a stroll around the temple complex which celebrates various Hindu deities.
Explore the beautiful Netrani Island located off the coast of Murdeshwara. You can witness the underwater beauty of the Arabian Sea through snorkelling. The island is home to an abundant variety of marine life and sea turtles. Take a ferry from nearby islands to reach Netrani.
Visit the Murudeshwar Fort which was built by the Vijayanagara empire in the 16th century. Walk around the fort and appreciate the architecture and the beautiful surroundings. A little further down, you can visit the Statue Park which houses the second-tallest statue of Lord Shiva in the world.
If you have an extra day, explore the nearby town of Honnavar which has several waterfalls and historical sites. If you have less time, you can skip Netrani Island. However, if you're interested in water sports, try surfing at Murdeshwara Beach.
