Explore the quaint and charming town of Chamonix Centre Ville, situated at the foot of Mont Blanc- the highest mountain in Europe. Take a stroll down the promenade, enjoy a coffee in one of the many cafes, and visit the historic Saint-Michel Church, the oldest church in the town dating back to the 1700s. Visit the Musée Alpin, which houses an extensive collection of Alpine-related objects, including traditional clothing, tools, and even a life-sized igloo. Walk around the square and shop for souvenirs to take home with you.
Take the Brevent Cable Car to the summit for breath-taking views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains. At the top, grab a bite to eat at the restaurant before trying out a tandem paragliding session with a local instructor. Glide above the Alps and get a bird's eye view of Chamonix from the sky. End the day with a visit to the Le Brévent summit terrace, where you can enjoy a drink while admiring the beautiful sunset over the mountains.
Take the scenic train ride up to the Mer de Glace- one of the largest glaciers in Europe. The train runs for around 20 exhilarating minutes, taking you through tunnels over ice cliffs and past stunning waterfalls. Once you arrive, take a cable car to the glacier itself and explore the ice caves and grottos carved into the glacier. End your trip with hot chocolate at the on-site restaurant before taking the train back down to Chamonix Centre Ville.
If you have extra time, consider taking a day trip to Aiguille du Midi- a mountain peak offering breathtaking panoramas of the Mont Blanc massif. Alternatively, you can explore the nearby village of Les Houches, a charming village with traditional alpine architecture. If you have less time, skip the paragliding session and spend more time exploring the town of Chamonix Centre Ville instead.
