Start your adventure trip by trekking to the top of Chembra peak. The heart-shaped lake on the top of the peak offers a breathtaking view of Wayanad. The trek is invigorating and presents a real challenge for nature enthusiasts. While hiking, one can witness a blanket of tea gardens and then a beautiful view of the lake. Avoid trekking with children or old people as the trail is steep and requires physical strength.
On your second day, head towards Meenmutty falls which is situated in a dense forest, with an unwinding trek en route through the valley. The falls are a series of breathtaking flows that come together to form a wide pool at the bottom. However, visitors have to walk about two kilometers across the bamboo forest and cross three fences to reach the gorge through which the water rushes down.
Visitors who have a passion for hiking and nature should visit Wayanad. Chembra Peak and Meenmutty waterfalls should be visited during the week, excluding weekends and holidays to avoid heavy crowds. For those with more time, they can explore Edakkal Caves or Pookode Lake. Visitors with lesser time can skip Meenmutty waterfalls.
