Three-Day Itinerary for Coorg Madikeri

  1. Day 1: Namdroling Monastery
    30 minutes (16km) from Madikeri

    Namdroling Monastery, also known as the Golden Temple of Bylakuppe, is a significant Tibetan settlement in India and the largest teaching center of Nyingmapa, a lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Witness the gigantic 60-ft tall golden Buddha statue, and witness the daily life of over 5,000 monks and nuns here.

  2. Day 2: Dubare Elephant Camp
    1 hour (18km) from Madikeri

    Visit the Dubare Elephant Camp, a project by the Karnataka Forest Department and Jungle Lodges and Resorts, for an interactive experience with the pachyderms. Witness the daily upkeep activities of the elephants and their mahouts, such as feeding, bathing, and watching them play in the river. You can choose to ride the elephants or take a coracle ride depending on availability.

  3. Day 3: Abbey Falls and Raja's Seat
    30 minutes (8km) from Madikeri

    The Abbey Falls is situated amidst coffee estate and spice plantations and famous for its thunderous appearance. Trek through the plantation or take a coracle ride to get the best view of it. Later visit the Raja's Seat, a garden where the Kings of Coorg spent their evenings enjoying the stunning views. Witness a glorious sunset from here.
