Beat the heat and head up Penang Hill via the funicular train. Take in the panoramic views of the city and enjoy cooler temperatures on this 821m high hill. There are plenty of walking trails to explore and attractions such as The Habitat and Owl Museum to visit.
Entopia is a butterfly and insect sanctuary that offers an immersive experience with nature. Witness the life of over 15,000 free-flying butterflies and discover more than 200 species of insects. Kids will love the interactive activities such as the Bug Exploration and the Cocoon Science Station.
Escape Adventureplay is a theme park that offers a day filled with excitement and endless fun for the whole family. Test your agility on the treetop rope course, race the zip line, or try the free fall. For younger kids, there are water slides, a petting zoo, and a kids' rope course.
George Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its eclectic mix of street art and rich history. Take a self-guided walking tour to see murals such as "Kids on Bicycle" and "Little Children on a Bicycle." Be sure to also visit the famous Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion and indulge in some local street food.
If you have more time, consider visiting Kek Lok Si Temple and the Penang National Park. For a shorter trip, skip Penang Hill or Escape Adventureplay. Be prepared for hot and humid weather, so bring plenty of water and wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
