Nainital Lake is the central attraction of Nainital. Surrounded by seven hills, the picturesque lake is a sight to behold. Go boating on the lake with your family and take in the stunning views. You can also visit the nearby Nainital Boat House Club and indulge in some water activities. Do not miss out on the evening light and sound show that depicts the history and legends of the lake.
One of the most sacred Hindu shrines, Naini Devi Temple is dedicated to the Goddess of prosperity and good luck. The temple is situated atop the Naina hill, and you need to trek your way to the top. The trek is moderately easy, with a lot of small shops selling snacks and drinks on the way. The temple's architecture is reflective of the North Indian style of temples and is a must-visit for all who come to Nainital.
If you have more time, you can visit Snow View Point, take the cable car ride to the top and see the panoramic views of the city. You can also visit Hanuman Garhi, the popular temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, located in a serene environment with beautiful views. If you have less time, you can skip Naini Devi Temple and visit other smaller lakes such as Tiffin Top or Khurpatal Lake.
