Begin your adventure by exploring the beautifully preserved French Quarters of Pondicherry. Get lost in the maze of streets; wander past colourful houses while feeling the old French charm. Take a walk to the Pondicherry Promenade Beach and enjoy the view of the Bay of Bengal from here.
On day 2, you could begin with a visit to the Aurobindo Ashram, a serene ashram that was created to practice spiritual teachings and nurture inner growth. Wander around the ashram and take some time to meditate in peace. Later head to the famous Basilica of Sacred Heart of Jesus known for its fabulous architecture and peaceful environment.
Start your final day of the trip with a trip to the Bharathi Park, an unusual park with a beautiful garden, stunning fountains, and museums, it is a perfect place to start the day. Afterward, head towards the beautiful Promenade Beach that provides an excellent view of the gorgeous coastline and enjoy water sports like surfing and scuba diving.
If you have more time in hand, take a day trip to the ancient town of Chidambaram, take a boat ride to Paradise Beach, watch a performance at the Kala Kendra, or even enjoy some shopping at the Fab India stores. For those who have less time, you might want to skip the museums or extend to trip by a day. Also, be aware that you might find currency notes up to INR 2000 outlawed here so carrying adequate cash-on-hand for sundry expenses might be a good idea.
