The Fairy Pools are a natural wonder that kids and adults alike will love. The crystal-clear water and vivid hues of blue and green make an ideal backdrop for photos. While the pools are too cold for swimming, visitors trek through the cascading waterfalls and streams to enjoy the view. Make sure to pack snacks or sandwiches for a picnic when you reach the top.
Located on the west coast, Dunvegan Castle and Gardens are steeped in history and culture. Take a tour of the castle and learn about the medieval period and the clan that inhabited it. Afterward, slip outside to enjoy the beautiful gardens or take a boat trip to see the seals basking in the sunlight of Loch Dunvegan.
Wrap up your trip with an exciting adventure at Sligachan Old Bridge. This historic bridge was built in the 1800s and was once a stopover for those traveling between the north and south of the island. You can trek across the bridge or climb up the hills for a panoramic view of the Cuillin Mountains. To recharge afterward, grab a bite to eat or relax with a hot drink at the nearby Sligachan Hotel.
If you have extra time, visit the Talisker Distillery for a family-friendly tour and whiskey tasting, or have a beach day at the famous Coral Beach on the north end of the island. If you have less time, consider spending Day 3 in the Trotternich Peninsula, visiting the famous Old Man of Storr and the Kilt Rock waterfall.
