Take a tour of the 100-year-old Mysore Palace that is known for its intricate architecture and beautiful cultural artefacts. The palace opens at 10 AM and is closed on Sundays. During Dasara, the palace is illuminated with thousands of lights and is a site to behold. There's also a beautiful garden in front of the palace.
Go on a jungle safari in the Bandipur National Park that's home to tigers, elephants, and other wildlife. The park opens at 6:30 AM and closes at 9:30 AM in the mornings and re-opens at 3 PM till 5:30 PM In the evening. Proceed to the nearby Sri Chamundeshwari Temple that rests on a hilltop. The temple opens at 7:30 AM and closes at 8 PM. There are beautiful views of Mysore city from the top.
Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Hampi ruins that comprise breathtaking ruins of ancient Indian Civilizations. The place opens at 7:30 AM and is closed on Fridays. Don't forget to see the monolithic Ugra Narasimha Statue that stands at 6.7 meters high. A part of the Hindu god, Narasimha statue is said to have been destroyed by lightning. The Hampi Bazaar is also an excellent place to shop for souvenirs.
Head to the picturesque beaches of Gokarna that are still relatively untouched by commercialization. The beaches are excellent for a dip in the water and even surfing. Om Beach and Kudle Beach are some of the best beaches to visit. Don't forget to visit the Mahabaleshwara Temple and Maha Ganapati Temple for a spiritual experience. These temples are revered by the locals.
If you have more time, you can consider visiting other beaches in Gokarna such as Half Moon Beach and Paradise Beach. You may also extend the trip by taking a train from Mysore to Goa and then travel back to Bangalore. If you have less time, you can cut short the stay in Hampi and go directly to Gokarna after visiting Mysore Palace.
