Three-Day Adventurous Tour of Wayanad

  1. Day 1: Chembra Peak
    45 minutes (15.5 km) from Kalpetta

    Begin your adventure by hiking up Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. You will be treated with scenic views of the mountain ranges while on your climb. Halfway through your climb, you'll come across a heart-shaped lake which further adds to the charm of the mountain. Once you reach the top, enjoy the panoramic view and click pictures. Plan for at least 3-4 hours of the climb up and down.

  2. Day 2: Banasura Sagar Dam and Meenmutty Falls
    1 hour 5 minutes (24.6 km) from Vythiri

    Visit the Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earthen dam in India, that offers boat rides and trekking experiences. Afterward, take a short trek to the Meenmutty Falls which is a three-tier waterfall. Get ready for beautiful views, luscious green valleys, and a refreshing swimming experience. Trekking up to the falls will take approximately 30-45 minutes one way.

  3. Day 3: Thirunelli Temple and Kabini River
    1 hour 30 minutes (60 km) from Kalpetta

    End your adventure by visiting the Thirunelli Temple which is one of the oldest temples in the region that holds great cultural significance. Follow it up with a visit to the Kabini River, which is also known as the 'Kabani'. Opt for kayaking and rafting experiences here. The adrenaline rush you'll get will make you appreciate the natural beauty and fresh air even more. Kayaking and rafting here would take around 2-3 hours in total but it's worth the experience.

If you have more time, add a visit to the Edakkal Caves which is a testament to the ancient civilization of Wayanad. If you have less time, skip the Meenmutty falls but make sure to visit the Chethalayam Falls which is easily accessible by road. Since the weather in Wayanad is consistent throughout the year, make sure to carry light clothing and umbrellas since monsoons are heavy here.
