You can also take a stroll around the small, quaint shops and restaurants around the temple to immerse yourself in the local culture.
The Thai Monastery is a beautiful and serene temple located on the outskirts of Gaya. The temple is known for its beautiful architecture and the massive, golden statue of Buddha. The temple complex also houses a library that has a vast collection of Buddhist texts and manuscripts. You can take a peaceful stroll around the beautifully manicured gardens and admire the intricate designs of the temple. Make sure to stay until sunset to witness the stunning light show that illuminates the temple.
If you have more time, you could also visit the other temples around the Mahabodhi Temple, such as the Muchalinda Pond, Ratnaghara, and the Animesh Lochana Chaitya. You could also check out the Bodhgaya Archaeological Museum to learn more about the history of Buddhism in the region. If you have less time, you could skip the Thai Monastery and spend more time exploring the Mahabodhi Temple complex.
