3-Day Coorg and Chikmagalur Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls and Kushalnagar
    Approx. 3 hours from Bangalore (225 km)
    • Abbey Falls (1-2 hours) - Enjoy the stunning waterfall surrounded by lush greenery.
    • Namdroling Monastery (1 hour) - Visit the largest teaching center of Tibetan Buddhism
    • Cauvery Nisargadhama (2 hours) - Get a glimpse of an island formed by river Cauvery's branches. Here you can see, animals like Deers, rabbits & peacocks roam around freely. You can also enjoy boating, elephant rides and a few outdoor activities.

    Start early in the morning to reach Abbey Falls before it gets crowded, and enjoy the scenic drive to Kushalnagar. Have lunch at one of the local restaurants in Kushalnagar and then head to visit the Monastery. Later in the evening, relax at Cauvery Nisargadhama and enjoy the outdoor activities.

  2. Day 2: Madikeri
    Aprox. 1 hour from Kushalnagar (42 km)
    • Raja's Seat (1-2 hours) - Enjoy a stunning sunset view from this beautiful garden. It was the favorite spot for the kings to watch the sunset and the valley below.
    • Madikeri Fort (1-2 hours) - Explore the historic fort and museum and get a glimpse of Coorg's past.
    • Omkareshwara Temple (30 minutes) - Visit the beautiful temple known for its unique architecture.
    • Madikeri Market (1-2 hours) - Shop for souvenirs and spices.

    Start early in the morning and head to Madikeri to explore the town. Start your day by watching the beautiful sunrise at Raja's Seat. Then visit the Fort, Omkareshwara Temple, and end your day by shopping at the local markets and indulging in some local food.

  3. Day 3: Mullayanagiri and Baba Budangiri
    Aprox. 4 hours from Madikeri (110 km)
    • Mullayanagiri Peak (2-3 hours) - Enjoy a trek to the highest peak in Karnataka's Western Ghats. Catch the mesmerizing sunrise if you can.
    • Baba Budangiri (1 hour) - Visit the historic shrine to a revered Sufi saint and get a glimpse of Karnataka's Muslim culture and heritage.
    • Manikyadhara Falls (1 hour) - Spend some relaxing time amidst the stunning natural beauty of the waterfall.
    • Hebbe Falls (1 hour) - See the towering waterfalls through the lush thickets of Western Ghats.

    Start your day early and head to Mullayanagiri peak for a stunning sunrise trek. Then, visit the historic Baba Buandangiri shrine to experience the unique blend of religions in the region. Afterward head to see the enchanting Manikyadhara and Hebbe falls.

If you have less time, skip Madikeri and head directly to Mullayanagiri and Baba Budangiri for some stunning views.
