Explore the 14th-century Kondapalli Fort on the first day. Discover the history of this ancient fortification and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding hills with a hike up to the top. You can also shop for unique handicrafts made of light-weight wood, known as Kondapalli toys, in the local market.
Visit the ancient granite-cut Mogalarajapuram Caves, dating back to the 5th century. Observe the exquisite carvings, shrines, and pillared halls that reveal the skilled craftsmanship of that era. After that, head to Gandhi Hill to pay tribute to the “Father of the Nation” at the Gandhi Memorial. The place also provides a beautiful panoramic view of the city.
Start the day by taking a walk on Prakasam Barrage, a 1223.5 meter barrage built across the river Krishna. This engineering marvel provides an amazing view of the river and the city surroundings. Later, take a tour of Bhavani Island on the river. This is the largest river island in the country, offering many recreational activities like boating, kayaking and a small water park.
On the last day visit the Rajiv Gandhi Park with large green lawns, adventure activities and games for kids. This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy with family and friends. Afterwards, venture into the Victoria Jubilee Museum that showcases many fine art and historical artifacts of the region. End the day with traditional Andhra food in the Kanaka Durga Varadhi Restaurant near the Krishna Canal junction.
If you have more time on your hands, visit Undavalli Caves, Hazratbal Mosque, or spend time walking in the Mogalarajapuram hills. For a shorter trip, you can skip Bhavani Island and go to Rajiv Gandhi Park in the morning. Be sure to check the opening and closing times of each attraction.
