Start your day early and head to Rock Beach, one of the popular attractions in Pondicherry. This beach has a long promenade, where you can take a stroll while enjoying the cool breeze from the Bay of Bengal. After that, visit the famous Aurobindo Ashram, founded by Sri Aurobindo, the spiritual guru. Next, visit the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a beautiful church with stained glass windows, and explore the French Quarters, also known as White Town. The French architecture and the colorful houses are a sight to behold. Stroll through the streets and browse the local shops, cafes, and art galleries.
On the second day, drive down to Auroville, an experimental community founded in the 1960s. This global village has residents from over 50 countries and is famous for its sustainable living practices. Visit the Matri Mandir, a golden sphere surrounded by gardens and a meditation hall. After that, head to the Chunnambar Boat House, approximately 7 km from Auroville. Take a boat ride to the Paradise Beach, a secluded beach with clear blue water and pristine sand. Enjoy the day lounging on the beach and indulge in some water activities like swimming or kayaking. Return back to Bangalore after an enjoyable day.
If you have extra time, you can visit other popular attractions like the Pondicherry Museum, Promenade Beach, and Auroville Beach. If you have less time, you can skip Auroville and spend more time at the Chunnambar Boat House and Paradise Beach. We suggest avoiding the peak tourist season (December to February) to avoid crowds and high prices.
