With scenic ocean views and plenty of activities, Alibaug Beach is a great start to your peaceful getaway.
Next, head over to the Kanakeshwar Forest, a tranquil nature reserve. Along the way, you'll enjoy the scenic drive and once you arrive, you'll be surrounded by verdant hills. The best time to visit is during the early morning or late afternoon when the temperature is cooler. The forest offers a challenging 3-km trek to reach the top where you'll find a Lord Shiva temple. The temple is surrounded by natural beauty and the views are breathtaking. The trek can get strenuous but it rewards with spectacular sights. Don't forget to bring your hiking boots and a camera on this trip!
Start your second day by visiting the Nagaon Beach, its serene surroundings and less crowded. Take a relaxing swim or just sit back and admire the picturesque vista of the sea. You can also indulge in water sports like parasailing, banana rides, jet skiing, and speed boat rides, etc. Local home-cooked food is also available from beach shacks. If you’re feeling laid-back, you can sunbathe and chill on the sand.
Further proceed to Varsoli Beach to experience the unhurried lifestyle of the Alibaug locals. This beach is very secluded and quiet, making it a perfect place to escape from crowds. The entire beach is surrounded by tall trees that provide sprinkles of shade throughout the day. The beach is ideal for swimming and water sports but always check the water conditions. The surroundings offer a serene atmosphere, that's ideal for strolling around the sandy beaches or simply lazing on the beach with a book and drink.
If you have more time in Alibaug, consider visiting Kulaba Fort located near Alibaug beach, which can take about 2-3 hours.
For food, visit the Sanman restaurant in Alibaug, they have some fantastic local fish dishes. If you want to try street food, the fruit stalls near the Alibaug Beach offers delicious Mangoes.
You can add an extra day and visit Kihim Beach to relax, this is located 13 km north of Alibaug. If you are traveling with children, the Nagaon Beach also has some camel and horse riding activities.
