If you have additional time, visit Fort Kochi, which is a 40-minute drive from Kumarakom and offers a unique mix of Dutch, Portuguese and British architecture. Alternatively, if you can extend your trip by a day, experience the beauty of Wayanad and spend some time exploring the gorgeous tea and coffee plantations, waterfalls and wildlife sanctuary. However, if you have less time, reduce the stay in Kovalam by a day.
