Start your Zion National Park experience with a visit to the Zion Canyon Visitor Center. Obtain a park map, speak to park rangers to get information on hiking trails, and watch a 22-minute orientation film about the park to get a better understanding of the park’s history, geology, wildlife, and hiking tips.
The Emerald Pools Trail is a family-friendly, easy to moderate hike that brings you to a series of connected pools and waterfalls. Each of the three pools are unique in size and formation. You'll see incredible views of the sandstone cliffs of Zion, the Virgin River, and the surrounding valley. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen and wear a pair of comfortable shoes.
The Kolob Canyons area is known for its brilliant red rock formations and breathtaking views. Visit the Kolob Canyons Visitor Center for information on hiking trails, view exhibits about the history and geology of the area, enjoy a picnic lunch in the designated areas, or take a scenic drive on the Kolob Canyons Road.
If you have more time, consider visiting other popular Zion National Park areas such as Angels Landing, The Narrows, or Checkerboard Mesa. For shorter stays, consider skipping a visit to Kolob Canyons or taking the Zion Canyon Shuttle to various stops within the park instead of driving to save time and avoid parking challenges.
