Mullayanagiri with an elevation of 1950 metres (6,398 feet) is the highest peak in Karnataka. Trek to the peak is an ideal activity for a family. The trail leading to the peak is well laid out and one might get a sight of elephant families, wild dogs and a variety of birds. The panoramic view of the valley from the peak is the most rewarding feature of the trek.
Belavadi is a quiet village near Chickamagalur, well known for a group of Hoysala temples. These temples date back to 1200 AD and are known for their intricate carvings. After Belavadi, the journey continues towards Hebbe Falls. Hebbe Falls is a waterfall where the water streams down from 168 meters in two stages. The location is rich with trees and coffee plantations around.
Kudremukh National Park is situated in the Western Ghats of Karnataka. The place has a rich variety of flora and fauna. One of the main attractions of the park is the Kudremukh Peak. The place is blessed with natural beauty, with jungle trails and a variety of wild animals. The park is one of India's largest wildlife sanctuaries.
If you have more time, you can visit other waterfalls in the region like Abbey Falls, Manikyadhara Falls and more. You can also utilize your time for a visit to the Coffee Museum. To shorten your itinerary, you can reduce the number of places to visit by one or two depending on your interest or time available. Lastly, as the places have considerable distance between them, it is advisable to rent a vehicle to comfortably travel from place to place.
