Your first stop is the St. Paul's Church, a quaint Gothic-style church built-in 1839, which offers a stunning view of the surrounding hills. Next, visit the Landour Clock Tower, a British-era memento, built-in 1883. A short walk away is the Sisters Bazaar with numerous local shops selling everything from vintage books to handmade jewelry. Later, move towards the home of author Ruskin Bond, Ivy Cottage on the end of Sister's Bazaar. Your last stop for the day is the peaceful Char Dukan Area, perfect for street food and an evening coffee.
Start the day with a refreshing nature walk at Lal Tibba, the highest peak in Landour, which has sweeping views of the Himalayan range. Next, visit the Jawahar Aquarium, stocked with a variety of fish species from the nearby lakes. After, head to the Benog Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected reserve with rare bird species, and for a small fee, a guide will take you through the reserve itself. Finally, visit the Happy Valley and take a tour of the Tibetan Monastery and purchase gorgeous Tibetan handicrafts as souvenirs.
For a longer stay, add visits to the Sir George Everest’s House, a colonial-era mansion surrounded by lush gardens, and the Mussoorie Heritage Centre, a historical museum. For a shorter stay, skip Lal Tibba and the Benog Wildlife Sanctuary. Keep in mind that some locations may not be open on certain days, so check ahead of time before planning.
