You can take a taxi, a shuttle, or rent a car to get around Costa Maya. Taxis usually have fixed fares, so make sure to negotiate before getting in. Shuttle services can be arranged through hotels, and car rentals are available at the airport. Expect to pay around $30-50 for a round trip from your hotel to the attractions.
If you have more time, you may want to go scuba diving or snorkeling to see the coral reef. For a shorter trip, you can skip the visit to the Nohoch Kay Beach Club, and spend more time at the beach or have a long lunch. Make sure to carry plenty of sunscreen and a hat to protect yourself from the sun. Also, do not forget to tip your guides and servers.
The Costa Maya International Airport (CZM) is located 5 miles north of the coastal town of Mahahual, and 90 miles south of Tulum. The airport is small, but modern, and offers direct flights to major cities in Mexico and the US. The airport is well connected to the town center, with taxis and shuttle services available at the airport.
