Kerala Adventure Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Munnar Tea Plantations
    4 hours (84.6 km) from Kochi

    Visit the **Kolukkumalai Tea Estate** located at the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, 7500 feet above sea level. Take part in a **trekking tour** which includes a hike through the tea plantations, stopping off at various viewpoints for some panoramic views of the stunning landscape. After that, take a visit to the **Madupetty Dam**, a perfect spot for a picnic with stunning views of the land around the dam, you can also take a **boat ride** here and enjoy bird-watching.

  2. Day 2: Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary
    3 hours (91.9 km) from Munnar

    Start the day with a visit to the impressive **Periyar National Park** which is famous for its wildlife sanctuary. Engage in a **jungle walk activity** that will make your adrenaline soar. The sanctuary has an artificial lake, **Periyar Lake**, which is perfect for a **boat safari** to catch a sighting of elephants, bisons and more along the forest path. Later, visit the **Mangala Devi Temple**, nestled among the hills of Thekkady and is only open to the public on the Chitra Pournami festival.

  3. Day 3: Alleppey Backwaters
    4 hours (139 km) from Thekkady

    Get ready for a day filled with **adventure and water**. Go for a **kayaking tour** through the ancient canals of the **Alleppey Backwaters** and explore the villages which stay hidden from the main tourist locations. Have your lunch on a **houseboat** that will take you through the stunning backwaters giving you a surreal feeling. Spend the night in the cozy houseboat.

  4. Day 4: Varkala Beach
    2 hours 30 minutes (90.4 km) from Alleppey

    Your final day will start with a visit to the **Varkala Beach**, famous for its beautiful cliffs that enchant visitors. Take a nice long walk along the clean beach or go for a **surfing lesson** that will add some more excitement to your day before visiting the **Janardhana Swamy Temple**. You can proceed to **Papanasam Beach,** which is nearby, to catch a beautiful **sunset** over Arabian Sea to bring your adventure to a beautiful closure.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, you can also visit the **Athirapally Waterfalls** where you would need atleast 4 hours to spend time there. If you have less time, you can skip any of these locations and spend an extra day in either Munnar or Alleppey to enjoy the peace and serenity of the surroundings.
