6-Day Jaipur Delhi Agra Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Jaipur City Palace
    Time & Distance: 20 minutes (7.7 km) from Jaipur International Airport

    Built-in the early 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, City Palace is a beautiful blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. The palace has sprawling gardens and multiple courtyards and houses a museum with a collection of Rajasthani dresses, armory, and various other artifacts.

  2. Day 2: Amber Fort & Hawa Mahal
    Time & Distance: 35 minutes (12 km) from Jaipur City Palace to Amber Fort and 10 minutes (4 km) from Amber Fort to Hawa Mahal

    Located 11 km from Jaipur, Amber Fort is an impressive fort showcasing the grandeur of the Rajputana era. The fort has a beautiful Diwan-i-Aam (Hall of Public Audience) which has been designed intricately with carvings and mirror work. Later in the day, visit Hawa Mahal which is also known as the Palace of Winds. The shallow palace has 953 small windows and was built for the women in the royal family to observe the festivities outside while remaining concealed.

  3. Day 3: Taj Mahal
    Time & Distance: 3 hours (230 km) from Jaipur to Agra via Yamuna Expressway

    The epitome of love, Taj Mahal is one of the most iconic and beautiful monuments of India. Built-in the 17th century by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is an awe-inspiring mausoleum made of white marble. The monument changes its color during different times in a day and must be seen at dawn or dusk to truly appreciate its beauty.

  4. Day 4: Agra Fort & Tomb of I'timad-ud-Daulah
    Time & Distance: 20 minutes (3 km) from Taj Mahal to Agra Fort and 1 hour (11 km) from Agra Fort to Tomb of I'timad-ud-Daulah

    Agra Fort is also known as Lal Qila or Red Fort and was the main residency of Mughal emperors until Delhi became the capital. It is a massive red sandstone fort which houses several palaces and gates. Later, in the day visit the Tomb of I'timad-ud-Daulah, also known as Baby Taj for its resemblance to the Taj Mahal. The tomb is made of white marble and contains the body of Mizra Ghiyas Beg, father of Nurjahan, wife of Emperor Jehangir.

  5. Day 5: Humayun's Tomb & Jama Masjid
    Time & Distance: 3 hours (233 km) from Agra to Delhi via Taj Express Highway

    Humayun's Tomb was built in the 16th century by Emperor Akbar in memory of his father Humayun. Made with red sandstone and marble, the tomb is a perfect example of Mughal architecture. Later in the day, visit Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. It was built in the 17th century by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and has two minarets and three great gates.

  6. Day 6: Red Fort & Lotus Temple
    Time & Distance: 20 minutes (9 km) from Humayun's Tomb to Red Fort and 30 minutes (16 km) from Red Fort to Lotus Temple

    The Red Fort, also known as Lal Qila, was the main residence of Mughal Emperors for nearly 200 years. It is made of red sandstone and is an important historical site in India. Later visit Lotus Temple, constructed in the shape of a lotus flower and is a Bahai temple. It is one of the most visited structures in India and has won numerous architecture awards.

If you have more time, visit Jaigarh Fort and Nahargarh Fort in Jaipur, Fatehpur Sikri near Agra, and Qutub Minar, Akshardham Temple, and Chandni Chowk in Delhi.
