Start your adventure by exploring the abandoned Ghost Town, which was destroyed by a cyclone in 1964. Walk through the remnants of the railway station and church and marvel at the stunning ocean views. Be sure to climb the top of the watchtower to enjoy a panoramic view of the town and the sea.
Take a boat trip and explore the Gulf of Mannar Marine National Park. This beautiful park is home to a variety of marine animals, including dolphins, sea turtles, and dugongs. See colorful coral reefs, a variety of fish, and a beautiful seagrass bed. Snorkeling and diving are also available for adventuresome visitors who want to get up close to marine life.
Embark on a trek to the historic Adam's Bridge. The Adams Bridge or Ram Setu is a chain of limestone shoals that connects the Pamban Island of Rameswaram to the Mannar Island of Sri Lanka. Legend says that this bridge was built by Lord Rama to rescue his wife Sita from the demon king Ravana.
For more adventures, consider adding a visit to Kurusadai Island and Rameshwaram’s famous Ramnathaswamy Temple. Exclusion of Marine national park and extending time of trek on day 3 can also be considered if you have limited budget or want a more intense adventure.
