Kappil Beach is a pristine beach located between the sea and the backwaters, and offers a range of activities such as surfing, parasailing, and jet skiing. Take a dip in the sea or hire a paddle boat to explore the backwaters.
Explore the historic Anjengo Fort and Light House, built in the 17th century by the English East India Company. Enjoy the panoramic views of the sea and backwaters from the lighthouse.
Hike through the lush green forests of the Western Ghats to reach the scenic Kili Waterfalls, and pass through the historic Varkala Tunnel on the way. Swim in the natural pool under the waterfall and enjoy a picnic lunch.
If you have extra time, visit the Varkala Beach, Janardhana Swamy Temple or witness the authentic ayurvedic massage. On account of unpredictable weather conditions, it is recommended to carry rain gear and proper hiking shoes. Ensure proper hydration throughout the trek and bring insect repellent. It would be safer and more fun to take an organised tour for the trek to the waterfall.
