Family-friendly Itinerary: Guwahati-Shillong-Cheerapunji

1. Day 1: Guwahati
   Arrive at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport
   Gate to Guwahati Museum (20 min, 8.9km)

   Explore Assam’s rich history and culture at the Guwahati Museum before heading over to the Kamakhya Temple (35 min, 5 km) to witness the unique spiritual rituals. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll around Assam State Zoo (20 min, 5.5km) and see exotic animals.

2. Day 2: Shillong
   Guwahati to Shillong (95 km, 2.5 hours)
   Ward's Lake (20 min, 2.3 km)

   Enjoy boating, picnicking or a horse ride at the beautiful Ward's Lake before exploring the city's buzzing markets, like the Police Bazaar. Visit the Don Bosco Museum and learn about the rich heritage and culture of northeastern India (15 min, 5.3 km). End the day with a sumptuous traditional dinner at the famous City Hut Dhaba and retire at the hotel.

3. Day 3: Shillong
   Elephant Falls (20 min, 13.5 km)

   Admire the beautiful Elephant Falls and click pictures before proceeding to the Shillong Peak (45 min, 10.4 km) to catch stunning panoramic views of the city. Take a step back in time and revisit the prehistoric era at the Mawmluh Cave (30 min, 53.3 km) before returning to the hotel for the night.

4. Day 4: Cheerapunji
   Shillong to Cheerapunji (54 km, 1.5 hours)
   Nohkalikai Falls (20 min, 8.6 km)

   Visit the Nohkalikai Falls, the tallest plunge waterfall, and feel one with nature before moving over to the Mawsmai Cave (20 min, 7.1 km) to explore the astounding limestone formations. End the day with a visit to the iconic Double Decker Living Root Bridges (30 min, 20 km) for an awe-inspiring experience like no other.

5. Day 5: Departure
   Cheerapunji to Guwahati (175 km, 4.5 hours)
   Airport drop off (45 min, 21 km)

   Head back to Guwahati and visit the renowned Kaziranga National Park (3.5 hours, 170 km) en route if time permits. Catch a flight back home in the evening from the airport.
