Explore the sanctuary via a jeep safari or nature walk while appreciating the enchanting flora and fauna. Don't miss the chance to observe the different species of birds present in the sanctuary.
A natural freshwater lake, Pookode Lake is a delightful place to spend the day. Boating activities are available on the lake. Take a stroll along the lake, and spot exotic birds and animals living around the lake's shore. There is a children's park to amuse kids, tea and snack options, and a shopping centre with handicrafts and local spices.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Soochipara Waterfalls on Day 2, located at a distance of around 22 km from Banasura Sagar Dam. You may also check out the man-made Kuruva Island for the thrilling suspension bridge experience. However, it is closed on some days due to flood management. If you have less time, skip Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary and Pookode lake.
