The Government Museum is a great place to start your trip to Chennai. The museum has a vast collection of artefacts and exhibits that show the history of India. The next must-visit place for the day is the Kapaleeswarar Temple. The beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is an architectural masterpiece with intricate carvings and designs.
Drive to Dolphin's Nose, a beautiful viewpoint that offers a great panoramic view of the surrounding hills and tea plantations. Later in the day, visit Pykara Falls, a beautiful waterfall that offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere surrounded by dense forests.
The unique and beautiful Thread Garden is a must-visit place in Ooty. The garden is filled with beautiful and colourful flowers made entirely out of thread. Next, visit the Tea Factory, an educational experience that shows the process of tea-making with a cup of tea at the end of the tour.
Visit Avalanche Lake, a serene lake surrounded by mountains and lush green forests, it's a perfect place for a picnic with the family. Finally, head to the Tribal Cultural Museum, a glimpse into the traditional lifestyle, customs and habitats of the indigenous tribes of Tamil Nadu.
If you have an additional day, you can visit the Botanical Garden or the Ooty Lake. If you have less time, you can remove one of the less important visits, such as the Tribal Cultural Museum or Pykara Falls.
