Start your trip by visiting Fort Kochi Beach, one of the most popular beaches in the area. You can enjoy the beautiful sunset, relax on the sandy beach, or take a stroll along the 150-year-old Chinese fishing nets. You can also visit the St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, which is located near the beach.
The Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary is a must-visit for any animal lover. You can take a boat ride through the Periyar Lake and spot elephants, tigers, and other animals in their natural habitats. You can also take a guided tour of the spice plantations surrounding the sanctuary and learn about the different spices grown in the area.
If you have an extra day, consider visiting the hill station of Munnar, which is a 2.5-hour drive from Idukki. Here you can enjoy the beautiful tea plantations, go on a trek, or visit the Mattupetty Dam. Alternatively, if you have less time, you can skip the spice plantation tour and just take a boat ride through the Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary.
