3-Day Itinerary for Lucknow

  1. Day 1: Visit the Bara Imambara

    The Bara Imambara is an impressive monument built back in the 18th century. The site features many beautiful architectural and historical elements to admire, such as the Bhul Bhulaiya (a maze of corridors), Asfi Mosque, Shahi Baoli (step-well), and Rumi Darwaza (ornate gateway). Don't forget to try the special sawaiyon, a traditional dessert made of vermicelli, milk, and sugar, sold outside the Bara Imambara.

  2. Day 2: Explore the Residency

    The Residency was a British stronghold during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. Today, it is a well-preserved heritage site that offers a glimpse into the past. Walk around the beautiful gardens, visit the old cemetery, and explore the various buildings to understand how the British lived in India at that time. The museum inside the Residency showcases various artefacts and photographs related to the Indian Rebellion.

  3. Day 3: Enjoy the Street Food at Chowk

    Chowk is a bustling market in Lucknow that is famous for its street food and local handicrafts. You will find everything here, from mouth-watering kebabs and biryanis to colourful chikan embroidery and pottery. Some popular places to try out the food are Tunday Kababi, Prakash Kulfi, and Rattilal's Paan. Make sure to take a leisurely stroll around the narrow lanes to soak up the vibrant atmosphere.
