Start your trip off right with a visit to the Mynnar Nature Reserve. Here, you can take a guided tour and view exotic plants and endangered animals, such as the Malabar grey hornbill and Nilgiri langur. After a morning hike, head over to the Mynnar Bungalow for a lunch of regional delicacies served with warm hospitality in a charming colonial bungalow built in the early 1900s.
Learn about the heritage of India's tea tradition at the Munnar Tea Museum. Especially, if tea originates from China, the museum showcases the evolution of tea processing, and then sample delicate flavors. Late afternoon, spend an exhilarating time at the Fun Forest Adventure Park, going on various activities like ziplining, archery, and rope walks.
Take in breathtaking views of the tea plantations on a visit to the Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, the highest organic tea garden in the world. Following this, escape the afternoon heat with a visit to Mattupetty Dam. So, surrounded by mountains and greenery, it offers an area for boating or simply relaxing in nature's serenity and calm.
Wrap up your visit to Mynnar with a visit to Kundala Dam, an arch dam with Asia's first arch bridge. Again, surrounded by the splendid hillsides, the dam also offers pedal boats available for sharing. Finally, conclude your trip with a visit to the majestic Top Station, which offers a spectacular panoramic view of the valley and hills over 1,800m above sea level.
If you have more time in Mynnarr, head over to the Eravikulam National Park to spot Nilgiri Thar or Pallivasal Falls. Take your family to Wonder Valley Adventure Park instead of Fun Forest Adventure Park if you wish to save some money. If you have less time, consider combining Days 3 and 4 into a day trip. Better yet, for a shorter trip, skip Day 3 altogether and stick to Day 1 and 2 which cover the some of the highlights of Mynnar.
