Climb to the top of Mullayanagiri peak, the highest peak in Karnataka and witness the breathtaking sunrise over the valley. The hills offer a panoramic view of the lush green hills and valleys. You can trek to the top of the hills or visit the Manikyadhara Falls and the Dattapeeta Cave Temple.

Kemmangundi is a hill station located in the Baba Budan range of the Western Ghats. It is known for its beautiful gardens, waterfalls and scenic trekking trails. Walk through the rose garden and enjoy the view of the Hebbe falls from the watchtower. You can also trek to the Z-point to get a bird's eye view of the Western Ghats.
Hirekolale Lake is a beautiful man-made lake that provides a serene atmosphere. Catch the sunset by renting a boat and rowing into the middle of the lake. If you're lucky, you might spot some exotic birds or monkeys along the way.
If you have more time, you can visit the coffee plantations and learn about the coffee making process. Alternatively, if you have less time, you can skip Kemmangundi or Hirekolale Lake and return back to Chikmagaluru city.
