One Day in Janjanbureh The Gambia

Transportation

Most of the sites in Janjanbureh are within walking distance. However, you can also rent bikes or hire a taxi to take you around town. Taxis will cost approximately 200 Gambian Dalasis per hour while bike rentals are around 150 Gambian Dalasis for the day. Please note that if you choose to rent a bike, it's important to wear a helmet.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, you can take a longer tour of the River Gambia, where you'll see a variety of wildlife and beautiful scenery. If you have less time, you can skip the craft market and spend more time at the other sites. Don't forget to bring sunscreen and a hat to protect yourself from the intense heat!

Airports

Janjanbureh does not have an airport. However, you can get there by taking a ferry from Banjul or using public transportation. The closest airport is Banjul International Airport (BJL), which is approximately 300 kilometers south of Janjanbureh.
