Step back in time as you explore the fascinating Old Town, a historical district with narrow streets and beautiful architecture. Be sure to visit the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Chorus, one of the city's most important landmarks. And don't leave without trying some pintxos (local tapas) at one of the many bars in the area.
After wandering around the Old Town, take a walk to the Playa de la Concha, a gorgeous urban beach with breathtaking views of the coast and the city. Soak up the sun, go for a swim, or simply relax on the sand.
Trek to the top of the Monte Urgull, a hill with panoramic views of the sea, the beach and the city. Along the way, you'll discover fortifications, a vintage lighthouse, and some beautiful sculptures.
Start your second day with a visit to the San Telmo Museum, a museum located in a 16th-century convent that houses Basque art and history, as well as other permanent and temporary exhibitions. The museum is a perfect place to get in touch with the local culture and history.
Continue your day by exploring the Zurriola Beach, a younger and more energetic beach full of outdoor activities, surfing, and concerts. The atmosphere is electrifying, and the views are fantastic.
End your day with a visit to the Chillida Leku Museum, an outdoor space with Eduardo Chillida's sculptures in the midst of nature. The Museum showcases the work of the acclaimed Basque sculptor and provides a serene environment.
If you have more time, consider visiting some nearby towns, such as Biarritz or Zarautz, which are known for their excellent beaches, food, and wine. For those with less time, forgo visiting the Sant Telmo Museum or the Chillida Leku Museum for a quick hike up either Ulia mountain or Jaizkibel mountain which offers amazing views of the region.
