Start your adventure by visiting Chandragiri Fort situated on top of a hill. Built-in the 11th century, the Fort was once home to the famous Vijayanagara Dynasty. Trek to the top of the hill to see incredible views of the surrounding countryside. Take a guided tour of the Royal Palace and the Museum to learn about the history of the fort and the royal family. Don't forget to try the delicious local food served at the nearby stalls.
Next, visit the Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park, one of the largest zoos in Asia. The park has a diverse range of wildlife, including tigers, lions, elephants, deer and numerous bird species. Explore the park through the safari rides and jeep tours to see the animals up close. End your day with a serene boat ride at the Swarnamukhi river, which flows through the park.
Start day two with a trip to Horsley Hills, a stunning hill station covered with dense forests and scenic views. Here, you can go trekking and rock climbing on the hills or zip-line through the forest. You can also go on a peaceful nature walk or enjoy the views of the rolling hills and valleys.
Finally, visit the Talakona Waterfalls, one of the highest waterfalls in the Andhra Pradesh. Go on a short trek through the forest to reach the falls and witness the mesmerizing beauty of the water cascading down from a height of 270 feet. Take a refreshing dip in the natural pool and relax amidst the serene surroundings.
If you have more time, visit the Tirumala temple, one of the most famous pilgrimage sites in India. It is located 25 km from Tirupathi and usually takes about 4-5 hours to visit. For adventure seekers, there are also options for paragliding and kayaking in Horsley Hills. If you have less time, consider skipping Chandragiri Fort and spending more time exploring the Zoological Park and Horsley Hills.
