Family-Friendly 5-Day Itinerary for Andaman

  1. Day 1: Radhanagar Beach
    45 minutes (12.3 km) from Veer Savarkar International Airport

    Start your family-friendly trip with a visit to Radhanagar Beach. Known for its turquoise blue waters and white sandy beach, you can relax, play in the water or build sandcastles with your little ones. You can also indulge in beach activities like Scuba Diving, snorkeling, Kayaking and witness the colorful aquatic life of Andaman.

  2. Day 2: Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park
    2 hours and 8 minutes (29.5km) from Radhanagar Beach

    Explore the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. Complete with a rainforest, variety of flora and fauna, and some Turtle nesting grounds, Families can indulge in glass-boat rides in the clear blue waters, observe reefs and underwater life, or visit the Gandhi museum. Avoid visiting on Wednesdays as it is closed.

  3. Day 3: Ross Island
    7 minutes (2.2km) from Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park

    Visit the Ross Island which was once the British headquarters during the colonial period. Take a light and sound show at the Island to glimpse into its rich history. Families can take a walking tour to explore the ruins of the church, swimming pool, and other buildings from the British period. Make sure to bring hats, sunscreen or umbrellas as there is little shade on the Island. Timings: Open all days except Wednesdays, between 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

  4. Day 4: Cellular Jail
    15 minutes (3.5km) from Ross Island

    Visit Cellular Jail to understand how the Indian freedom fighters used to live. 'The Light and Sound' show is a must-visit for the entire family. It is a dramatic interpretation of the Jail's story, told through a series of songs and narrations. Timings: Open on all days except National Holidays,Weekends and Mondays. The Light and Sound Show takes place twice a day from 5:30 pm and 6:45 pm respectively.

  5. Day 5: Mount Harriet National Park
    14 minutes (8.2km) from Cellular Jail

    The perfect place to round off family-friendly trip is with a visit to Mount Harriet National Park. This is one of Andamans highest peak. Families can enjoy a leisurely trek through the park, take picnic lunches, spot a variety of flora and fauna and get a bird's eye view of surrounding islands and the sea.Entry fee for Indian visitors to the park is Rs 25 per head and entry for foreign visitors is Rs 250 per head. Timings: The park is open between 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
