Start your day with a visit to the Vagamon Meadows - an expansive stretch of green fields surrounded by hills and adorned with little streams. Enjoy a picnic, click some pictures, walk around the gardens or just revel in the peaceful surroundings. There are some adventure activities nearby such as zipline, archery, and ATV rides for those interested in some physical challenge.
Head towards the Vagamon Pine Forests - acres of dense woods covered with pine trees, creating a serene setting and cool breeze. You can stroll around amidst the trees on walking paths hearing birds chirping and the rustling sound of pine leaves. The view of the valley and the lush green mountains in the horizon is an added bonus. Close by, there is Kurusimala, a popular destination among trekkers and nature lovers alike.
On your last day, visit the Vagamon Lake - a large water body surrounded by valleys and hills. The pristine emerald water reflects the lush greenery around, creating a mesmerizing view. Take a leisurely paddle-boat ride, feed the fish or simply rest on one of the benches around the lake and enjoy the fresh air. You can also enjoy a pleasant nature walk around the lake. Before leaving, do try some local snacks from one of the food stalls lining the lake.
If you have more than 3 days, you can add a visit to Thangal Para, a scenic spot believed to have relics of a Sufi saint, or to the Mundakayam Ghat, a picturesque scenic route nestled amidst lush green hills. If time is short, skip Vagamon Pine Forests, especially if you've seen enough of trees and greenery, and head directly to Vagamon Lake. Be careful of your belongings at the tourist attractions and follow the eco-friendly guidelines put up by the authorities.
