5-Day Adventurous Itinerary for Mysuru

  1. Day 1: Chamundi Hill
    15 minutes (5.5 km) from Mysuru Railway Station

    Hike up to the 1000-year-old Chamundeshwari Temple, which stands at an elevation of 1062 metres. Enjoy the panoramic views of the city from the hilltop and explore the Nandi Statue, Mahabaleshwar Temple and Sandalwood forests.

  2. Day 2: Mysuru Zoo
    20 minutes (8.9 km) from Chamundi Hill

    Home to a wide variety of animals such as giraffes, elephants, zebras and the Royal Bengal Tiger. The zoo also has a walk-through aviary that lets you see beautiful birds up close, and a reptile section.

  3. Day 3: Nagarhole National Park
    1 hour 45 minutes (80 km) from Mysuru Zoo

    Visit the wildlife reserve and witness elephants, gaurs, tigers, Indian bison, leopards, wild dogs and sloth bears in their natural habitat. Take a jeep safari, and if you are lucky, catch a glimpse of the big cats.

  4. Day 4: Brindavan Gardens
    50 minutes (21 km) from Nagarhole National Park

    Located behind the Krishnarajasagara Dam, this garden is spread across 60 acres with a musical fountain show in the evenings that attracts a lot of tourists. Take a boat ride on the lake and explore the beautiful fountains and well-manicured lawns.

  5. Day 5: White Water Rafting at Barapole River
    4 hours 30 minutes (150 km) from Brindavan Gardens

    Indulge in some adventure and feel the rush in Barapole River which is situated in the Western Ghats. Companies in the area offer day-long river rafting trips in inflatable rafts. Safety gear and an experienced guide are provided.

Useful Tips
