Begin your trip by exploring the historic Fort Kochi area. This area was under the control of the Portuguese, Dutch, and British, and their influence can be seen in the architectures in the area. Visit St. Francis Church, which is the oldest European church in India. Take a walk along the beach and see the Chinese Fishing Nets. Also, visit the Dutch Palace, which was built by the Portuguese and later renovated by the Dutch. The palace houses excellent collections of murals and art from the 16th century.
After exploring Fort Kochi, make your way to Kochi’s popular waterfront walkway, Marine Drive, which is an ideal spot for evening stroll. Experience the scenic beauty of the Arabian Sea and Cochin Harbour while enjoying the refreshing breeze.
Start Day 2 by visiting the Hill Palace Museum, which is home to a vast collection of the royal family of Kochi, including artefacts from the early medieval period. Spend a few hours here exploring its exhibits, including archaeological findings, paintings, and jewellery from ancient India. Later, head to Wonderla Amusement Park, which is an excellent place to have a fun-filled day. The amusement park has many thrilling rides and water slides to enthrall visitors.
End your two-day trip by heading to Lulu Mall, the largest shopping mall in India. Spanning over 2.5 million square feet, the mall has over 200 stores, a cinema, a bowling alley, and an ice skating rink. You can find almost anything you need or want here and try out some of the best local and international cuisine at the food court.
If you have extra time, you can explore other attractions such as Mattancherry Palace, Jew Town, and Santa Cruz Basilica. Also, you can take relaxing Ayurvedic massages in Kochi. If time is tight, you can skip visiting Lulu Mall. When visiting the above-mentioned sites, it’s important to bring sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, and carry cash for entry fees and other expenses as most places do not accept credit cards.
