Admire the scenic beauty of the Catherine falls, one of the highest waterfalls in the Nilgiris. Trekking enthusiasts may try the 8-km long trekking trail starting from Aravenu that leads to the falls.
Situated atop the Todasalli hill, Kodanad View Point offers a panoramic view of the Moyar river valley and the Rangasamy peak. Next, head to Elk Falls, located just 5 minutes away from the viewpoint. The stunning falls are surrounded by the Mukurthi National Park and are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna.
Hike through the stunning Longwood Shola Forest, a triangular patch of forest situated above the Rangasamy peak. The forest is home to a large variety of trees, including some rare species, and is also identified as a birdwatchers paradise. After the trail, proceed to Rangasamy Peak, the highest peak in Kotagiri, to witness a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire region at an altitude of 5290 ft.
Visit the John Sullivan Memorial in the heart of Kotagiri town, dedicated to the founder of Kotagiri and a significant member of the Nilgiri Tea Planters' Association. Next, drop by the Nehru Park, located at a short distance, and relax amidst the serene environment. If you have an extra day, consider visiting the Kodanadu’s Viewpoint and the Kallar Valley Viewpoint, both of which offer stunning vistas of the Nilgiris hills. Alternatively, you can visit the nearby towns of Ooty and Coonoor, which are popular tourist destinations and are located just a short distance away.
