Ratnagiri 2-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Thiba Palace & Mandvi Beach
    Approximately 23 minutes (7.8 km) from Ratnagiri Bus Stand

    Begin your Ratnagiri journey with visiting Thiba Palace, the two-story wooden palace was built-in 1910, for the exiled King of Burma, Thibaw Min and his family. It now houses a museum displaying a huge collection of photographs and artefacts related to Maratha and British rule in the Konkan region of Maharashtra.
    Then, head to Mandvi Beach is an attractive black sand beach in the city that offers captivating views of the Arabian Sea. You can take a leisurely stroll on the beach or enjoy the ride of a speedboat or jet ski.

  2. Day 2: Ratnadurg Fort & Ganpatipule Beach
    Approximately 19 minutes (10.5 km) from Mandvi Beach

    Start the second day by visiting Ratnadurg Fort, a seaside fort built-in the 16th century by Bijapur rulers, located in the Ratnagiri district and offers an amazing view of the Arabian sea. The fort was built for the purpose of keeping a watch over the enemies from the sea route: the Bahamani Kings, the Mughals and eventually pirates.
    End the day at Ganpatipule Beach, a clean and pristine beach located in the nearby area of Ratnagiri. The famous Ganpati temple that gives the beach its name and is located on the beach itself. The beach rocks offer a good spot for adventure lovers to try their hands at rock climbing.

If you have more time in Ratnagiri, you can also visit the Ratnagiri Marine Musuem and Bhagwati Mandir. But, if you're running a little short on time, you can skip the less important places. Also, it is recommended to carry a hat, sunscreen, and water bottles while visiting the beaches.
