Begin your family-friendly Kerala adventure at the Fort Kochi Beach, which is nestled on the shore of the Arabian Sea. There is plenty of space to relax, play, and enjoy the sun. After basking in the sun, head over to the Chinese Fishing Nets - beautiful, intricately designed pieces of architecture that were originally brought to Kerala by Chinese traders. Next, make your way to the historic Mattancherry Palace, a former royal palace that now houses a collection of murals, paintings, and artifacts from the region’s rich history. End your day by walking along the scenic Marine Drive, a peaceful promenade dotted with coffee shops and restaurants.
Get an early start to Day 2 and head to the beautiful town of Munnar. Start your day by visiting the Mattupetty Dam which offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains, as well as boating and fishing opportunities. Next, head to the Tea Museum to learn about the history of tea production in Kerala. After lunch, a great place to visit is the Eravikulam National Park, home to an array of flora and fauna. Wind down your day by taking a stroll through the Photo Point, where you can take a family photo surrounded by lush tea plantations.
If you have more time, check out Alleppey Beach, where you can enjoy the seemingly endless ocean while taking a boat ride through the backwaters of Alleppey. If you have less time, the St. Francis Church is a great destination for a quick stop to learn about Kerala's Christian history and architecture.
