Begin your trip to Bhopal exploring the Upper Lake, one of the largest man-made lakes in India, with a serene and picturesque environment. Stroll around the lake's periphery and enjoy the view of the hills surrounding it. After that, head over to the Van Vihar National Park, a magnificent wildlife sanctuary, and enjoy a safari experience. Get up close and personal with some of India's unique wildlife, such as the Bengal Tiger and the Indian Sloth Bear, roaming in their natural habitats.
On your second day, start by visiting Bhimbetka Caves, a world heritage site, home to some of the oldest cave paintings in India. Admire the magnificent rock formations and the 1500 rock shelters that contain some of the oldest evidence of human life in the Indian subcontinent. After that, head over to the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, a museum with an impressive collection from all over India showcasing the diversity of Indian culture through various artifacts, including tribal art and ancient sculptures.
If you have more time, you can visit the Sanchi Stupa, an awe-inspiring Buddhist monument, and the Taj-ul-Masajid, one of the largest mosques in India. However, if you have less time, you can skip the Bhimbetka Caves and head straight to the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya on the second day. Don't forget to carry water bottles and light snacks as most of the places don't have food stalls nearby.
