The hike to the caves is steep but worth it for the stunning views that await you. After this, head to Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary and go for a nature walk to spot exotic birds and animals. End your day with a visit to the Kuruva Island, a lush green forested island situated on the Kabini River.
Take a breathtaking trek to reach the highest peak in Wayanad – Chembra Peak. The trek to the top takes three to four hours but is worth it as the view from the top is truly spectacular. Next, visit the Meenmutty Falls, a three-tiered waterfall that cascades down from a height of 900 feet. Conclude your trip with a visit to the Chain Tree, a gigantic Ficus tree with chains around its trunk. The locals believe that it is haunted and the chains were meant to contain the spirit of a British colonialist who murdered a local tribal leader here.
