Punganoor Lake and Park is a great place to start your Yelagiri adventure. The park offers a serene environment, enjoying a picnic with family and children. Visitors can pedal-boat, row-boat and regular boat rides. There are multiple food vendors, and a small eating joint to grab something light.
On the second day, visit Jalagamparai Waterfalls. The waterfalls are a marvelous sight and have a small temple beside it. It is a great place to get some fresh air, enjoy nature, and take pictures. However, the trek to the waterfall is moderately difficult so best advised to travel with reasonable shoes and avoid elderly people and children.
The final day in Yelagiri can be utilized by visiting the Nature Park. The park is home to various endangered species of flora and fauna, providing an intriguing and educating experience. The park also offers adventure activities, including a zip line and artificial wall climbing for entertaining children, and nature trails can be traversed to discover the diversity of the park.
For those with additional time, consider stopping by the Murugan Temple, located 15 minutes (3.3 km) from Yelagiri Town. For visitors with less time, the Nature Park can be visited on Day 1 instead of Punganoor Lake and Park. Avoid trips to Jalagamparai Waterfalls during the rainy season (November-January) when the route is most slippery, and the waterfall is most violent.
