Start your first day at the tea plantations of Munnar, which are spread over vast hectares of land filled with lush greenery. This place offers stunning views of the hills covered with tea bushes and the surrounding hills. Walk through the plantations while learning about the traditional methods of growing tea leaves and the process of making tea. After this, visit the Mattupetty Dam, an ideal location for nature lovers. You can enjoy boating here or simply sit by the dam and take in the view of the mountains and majestic tea gardens around.
Start your second day by visiting Echo Point. Echo Point gets its name from the natural echo phenomenon that occurs here. Shout a phrase and listen to the echo of your voice that reverberates around the mountains. You can also try boating here or take a leisurely walk around the lake. After this, drive down to the Eravikulam National Park, which is particularly famous for its rare flora and fauna. Here you can take a guided trek to the top of the Anamudi Peak, which is the highest peak in South India. From the top, you can enjoy the panoramic views of the park and surrounding hills.
If you have more than two days, you can visit other popular attractions like Top Station and Pothamedu Viewpoint. If you have less time, you can choose to skip Mattupetty Dam or Echo Point. Don't forget to carry a jacket as the temperature drops significantly in the evening and a good pair of shoes for the trekking.
