The most convenient way to get around Charlottesville is by car or by Uber. However, visitors can also use the Charlottesville Free Trolley or the CAT bus system. The Shenandoah National Park is only accessible by car and is a couple of hours away from Charlottesville.
If you have more time, try visiting the Michie Tavern and attend one of their historic foodways programs. You can also visit Carter Mountain Orchard to pick apples and see the vibrant orchard scenery. If you have less time, consider combining Monticello with the University of Virginia Rotunda tour, or skipping the Fralin Museum of Art.
