Spend your first day exploring the tea plantations and rolling hills of Munnar. Take a hiking tour of the Western Ghats and see the beautiful Attukad Waterfall. In the afternoon, visit the Munnar Tea Museum and learn about the history of tea cultivation in the region.
Get up early and take a guided bamboo rafting tour along the Periyar River through the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. You may see elephants, tigers, and other wild animals along the way. In the evening, visit the Mangala Devi Temple, a beautiful 1000-year-old temple located in the heart of the sanctuary.
Experience the famous backwaters of Kerala with a houseboat cruise on the tranquil waters of Vembanad Lake. Enjoy the scenic beauty and the local village life while relaxing on the deck of the boat. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kerala-style dinner on the houseboat.
Head to Varkala for some adventure on the beach. Take a surfing lesson or paragliding tour to enjoy the sun, sand, and waves. Later, visit the Janardana Swami Temple, a famous 2000-year-old temple located atop a hill overlooking the Arabian Sea.
On your last day, visit Kochi, the Queen of the Arabian Sea. Explore the Dutch Palace and the Jewish Synagogue, both famous historical landmarks. Take a kayaking tour in the backwaters of Kochi and see the traditional fishing villages up close. In the evening, enjoy a Kathakali dance performance, a traditional form of Kerala dance.
If you have more time, consider spending an extra day in Munnar or Thekkady to take a longer hiking or wildlife safari tour. If you have less time, skip Varkala and head straight to Kochi from Alleppey. Don't forget to bring sunscreen, insect repellent, and comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for the climate and activities.
