One can explore the surroundings, and the nearby Buddhist Monastery, and reach the top to view the prehistoric etchings and the panoramic view of the Wayanad region.
Thirunelli Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Maha Vishnu. The temple is situated amidst scenic mountains and surrounded by dense forests. It is believed that a dip in the nearby Papanasini River washes away all sins. Visitors can explore the temple architecture, visit the ancient jyotirlinga, trek to the Brahmagiri hills to the north, or rejuvenate at the Ayurvedic medical center.
If you have more time, visit Lakkidi viewpoint, Meenmutty falls, or Soochipara waterfall. You can enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, wildlife safaris, and birdwatching in Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. If you have less time, skip Thirunelli temple or Edakkal caves.
