The Edakkal Caves are majestic interlinked caves that are 4000 years old. The prehistoric cave paintings depict human figures, animals, and ancient tools, making it a significant archaeological site. The caves are at an altitude of 1200 meters and are accessible only through trekking. The caves offer a sweeping view of the greenery of Wayanad, and the trekking trails through the serene forests make for a memorable journey. The Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at the border of Wayanad and is a part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.
