  • Day 1: Ponta Delgada

If you have more time, consider adding a visit to the impressive Nordeste region, or the beautiful Algarvia Waterfall. If you have less time, consider cutting your visit to Faial or Graciosa Island short, and spend more time on Sao Miguel Island. Remember to bring comfortable clothing and shoes for hiking and swimming gear for hot springs and natural pools.

João Paulo II Airport (PDL) serves as the main airport in the Azores and is situated on the island of Sao Miguel, just 2 miles west of the city of Ponta Delgada. The airport has a beautiful view of the ocean and is equipped with duty-free stores, souvenir shops, an ATM, and a food court serving both local and international cuisine.
